JAMIROQUAI - DYNAMITE
Released in 2005, Dynamite really brings the funk back into the band. After the 2001 album A Funk Odyssey felt a little underwhelming, besides the two main stand outs of the album, Dynamite felt like a funk filled punch in the heart. The songs are a bit more experimental compared to the previous albums, each song feels almost like a celebration of their previous work with a modern twist. Each song additionally has other influences besides just Funk and Disco which really makes this album stand out to me. Compared to Travelling Without Moving which I believe to have really high highs with pretty decent lows, this album is just pure highs. The standouts on this album consist of "Seven Days in Sunny June", "(Don't) Give Hate a Chance", and "Talullah". However, I would like to talk about easily the greatest end to an album with "Time Won't Wait". In general, Jamiroquai has a way of making people get up and dance, but the way this specific song does it, it would almost feel like a crime to not get up and dance. The instruments used in this song really meld together so well that I think a lot of inspiring artists would take this song as a good example of how to do it. This is easily an "Album of the Summer" with how groovy it is, to the point you wish it was a 2005 summer.
